ABOUT THE ROLE

The Malarkey Plant Manager leads all aspects of plant operations to achieve year-over-year improvements in safety, quality, service, people, and cost performance. This role is accountable for driving a culture of operational excellence and sustainability by ensuring strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while optimizing production efficiency and resource utilization. The Plant Manager fosters a high-performing team through strong leadership, communication, and employee development, delivering measurable results in productivity, cost reduction, and community engagement.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Responsible for year-over-year improvement of safety incident and severity rates.
  • Strict adherence to environmental regulations and operating permit parameters.
  • Responsible for year-over-year improvement on the Internal Quality Audit scorecard.
  • Strict adherence to manufacturing and finished product specifications.
  • Provide direction and leadership in Root Cause and Corrective Action for any target that is not achieved.
  • Effective management and leadership for the facility through performance management and performance appraisals.
  • Provides leadership through effective communication channels.
  • Creates a culture of employee growth through mentoring, training, and development.
  • Effectively communicates the financial targets for the facility and takes appropriate action to reduce any gaps in actual performance versus the target performance.

 

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required; a bachelor’s degree in business/technical degree is preferred, and
  • 15 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a paper processing plant manager.
  • Prior pulp and paper experience, including woven and nonwoven fiber processing, is preferred.
  • Experience in handling large volumes of raw material daily.
  • Strong supervision experience, leadership, and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the development of an employee-led safety culture.
