ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring a Millwright that can maintain, improve, and optimize the mechanical operations of Amrize six Ready Mix Concrete Facilities in the Greater Winnipeg Area.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Ensures that each facility is operationally capable of producing concrete at design capacity to meet customer demands.
- Proactively addresses breakdown events with a sense of urgency without compromising safety or product quality requirements.
- Actively inspects and monitors all mechanical equipment to ensure the majority of tasks performed are preventative rather than breakdown maintenance.
- Constantly in pursuit of building and maintaining a “best possible” group of facilities.
- Purchases and maintains inventories of parts and supplies within corporate guidelines in pursuit of lowest possible cost.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school Diploma or equivalent
Required Work Experience: 1 year of Industrial Millwright Experience
Required Technical Experience: Basic computer skills that include email, word-processing (for reports), and spreadsheets (for alternative analysis).
Required Training/Certifications: Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) – formal apprenticeship. (Nice to have: Industrial First Aid Certification, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification, Working at Heights Certification, Confined Space Certification, Heavy Equipment Operator Certification)
Additional Requirements:
- Project circumstances, operational requirements, and emergency breakdowns will require working hours outside the normal schedule.
- The schedule will be flexible and subject to change as required.
- Fluent verbal and written English language ability
- Willingness and ability to pursue and complete additional training as deemed appropriate by the individual and manager.
- Welding and Fabrication Experience (CWB or Provincial Welder)
- Experience with mentoring and training apprentices
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
