ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the Operation Coordinator oversees the company’s safety systems as it applies to successful product manufacturing and delivery, project management, and client satisfaction.  This role supports the operations to ensure Amrize continues to lead the way in safety and environmental excellence and employer of choice.

The Operations Coordinator (safety) is to provide support to both the hourly and salary employees in respect to plant and jobsite safety.  This is conducted by providing onsite support for operators as well as participating in operational hazard assessments and controls in partnership with the Supervisors.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Maintain valid employee training certifications, rescheduling as needed, and ensure SiteDocs accounts and safety documentation are kept current.

  • Support incident reporting, conduct minor incident investigations, manage Motor Vehicle Incident documentation, and assist with claims management and worker progress monitoring.

  • Facilitate safety meetings, annual kick-off events, and operational walk-throughs while promoting best practices and capturing employee concerns.

  • Coordinate pre-employment and post-incident testing, and perform regular safety inspections, including fire extinguishers and AEDs.

  • Track and report safety leading and lagging indicators to senior management, supporting continuous safety performance improvements.

  • Assist in the Contractor Management Program and evaluate safety features on new and existing equipment, providing feedback on trials and innovations.

  • Implement and support corporate and division-specific safety policies, programs, and initiatives across operations.

  • Coach and train managers and supervisors on internal and external safety regulations, ensuring compliance and consistent understanding.

  • Conduct risk assessments for acquired jobs, recommend control measures, and help resolve site-level operational safety issues.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred)

Required Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of industry related safety experience

  • Demonstrated strong application user skills for MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
