ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Precast Plant Manager, the Operations Coordinator supports day-to-day operations and helps administer the company’s safety systems as they relate to product manufacturing, delivery, project execution, and client satisfaction. The role supports both hourly and salaried employees in matters related to plant and jobsite safety, production, and general operations, working closely with Supervisors to identify hazards and implement appropriate controls. This position plays a key role in ensuring Amrize continues to lead the way in safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence as an employer of choice.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Provide operational support by assisting with planning and scheduling activities, coordinating materials and tool requirements, completing payroll time entry, and ensuring supervisors, lead hands and charge hands have the information and resources they need to meet production, quality, and safety targets.
  • Maintain accurate employee training and certification records; keep Site Docs accounts, safety documentation, contractor information, and related policy documents organized and up to date.
    Support ordering and procurement of materials and supplies and help troubleshoot day-to-day issues that may affect workflow, productivity, quality, or safety.
  • Assist supervisors with incident reporting and minor investigations, Motor Vehicle Incident documentation, claims support, and monitoring worker progress in line with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Help facilitate safety meetings, annual kick-off events, operational walk-throughs, and routine inspections (including fire extinguishers and AEDs), while gathering feedback and sharing best practices.
  • Track and compile leading and lagging safety indicators for senior management and help implement corporate and division-specific safety programs, policies, and standards across operations.
  • Support supervisors, lead hands, and charge hands by providing guidance on the interpretation and application of operational and safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with operational and safety risk assessments for new or acquired work, help coordinate with production supervisors and QC teams, and provide support during equipment evaluations or trials.
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture by promoting and reinforcing health, safety, environmental, and operational expectations throughout all work areas.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Diploma or Certificate in Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology, Construction/Concrete Technology, Occupational Health & Safety or related field. A combination of relevant education and industry experience will also be considered.
Required Training/Certifications: Additional safety-related training or certifications are an asset. 
Required Work experience: 2-4 years of industry and/or safety related experience
Required Technical Skills: Demonstrated application user skills in MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint as it applies to data entry, documentation management, and compiling reports
