ABOUT THE ROLE 

Please join us at our leading Hollowcore manufacturing facility! You will perform quality control functions, including testing of fresh and hardened concrete, testing of aggregates, bake-out test, interpreting shop drawings, pre- and post-pour inspections, and generating reports.

 

WHAT THEY’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Set computerized and handheld curing systems, monitoring and logging curing temperatures.
  • Identify the deficiencies and initiate the NCR.
  • Perform quality control functions, including testing of fresh and hardened concrete.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Civil Engineer or Civil Engineer Technologist/Technician preferred. Must have the ability to acquire skills to perform the job description duties.
Work Experience: Reading/interpreting precast shop drawings is required.
Required Training/Certifications: ACI concrete field-testing technician Grade 1 certification is an asset, or the candidate must pass the ACI Grade 1 exam within 6 months of joining. Training/professional development will be covered. C.tech and/or C.E.T registration (or eligible) in the Province of Manitoba would be an asset.A valid driver’s License is required.
Technical Skills: Basic computer and tablet skills (MS Office) and the ability to interpret digital drawings.
Travel/Schedule Requirements: Must be willing and able to work overnights and/or weekends.


Additional Requirements: 

  • Must be able to collaborate in a team environment to meet & exceed quality standards.
  • Good organization and planning skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory work environment.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical test.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
