ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize is looking for a Quality Control Technician- Level 1 for our Precast division. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Perform quality control functions including testing of fresh and hardened concrete, testing of aggregates, bake out test, interpret shop drawings, pre and post pour inspections and generating reports.
  • Set computerized and hand held curing systems, monitoring and logging curing temperatures.
  • Perform other duties as required such as production, housekeeping. Identify the deficiencies and initiate the NCR.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field of experience is preferred.
Required Work Experience:  Must have ability to acquire skills to perform the job description duties. Reading precast shop drawings is preferred. ACI concrete field testing technician Grade 1 certified an asset or must pass ACI grade 1 exam in 6 months of joining.
Required Training/Certifications: Valid D/L is required. EIT, CET, and Ctechs are preferred 
Additional Requirements: 

  • Employees in the QC position will be provided opportunities to advance through the PCI Personnel Certification Program subject to the Program guidelines/requirements.
  • Must be willing to work overnights and/or weekends.
  • Must have good organization & planning skills, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have basic computer & tablet skills (MS Office) and ability to interpret digital drawings.
  • Must be able to multitask and be a team player.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
