ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a concrete batch plant. This includes managing concrete mixer drivers and overseeing plant maintenance. Your goal is to ensure the timely delivery of a quality product, ultimately driving customer satisfaction.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Identify and correct safety issues promptly, providing coaching to employees to reinforce safe work behaviours.
- Foster a culture of safety by leading by example and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Operate in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment by scheduling concrete deliveries and providing pricing to customers.
- Order raw materials as required and ensure accurate batching to meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Manage raw material inventories (aggregates, cement, and admixtures) and maintain accurate records.
- Perform routine plant maintenance and coordinate with the maintenance team for major repairs to minimize downtime.
- Provide direction to mixer drivers to ensure efficient delivery cycles and adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with sales and quality control teams to address customer needs and resolve any product or delivery issues.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in concrete batching or a related field within the construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in concrete batching software and basic computer applications.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of concrete mix designs, raw materials, and plant operations
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
- Mechanical aptitude for basic plant troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
