ABOUT THE ROLE
The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating the Grinding Plant and Terminal. The Incumbent will have a strong understanding of the Amrize commitment to Health and Safety. In addition, the Production Operator will be responsible for quality, housekeeping and operating mobile equipment safely throughout the facility.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Promotes a positive safety culture through leadership by example.
- Performs all work activities following all relevant safety policies/procedures ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.
- Utilize understanding of tools, computers, work procedures, mobile equipment operation and the cement industry.
- Operate a mill and dryer, load trucks and rail cars, and perform quality testing
- Complete clean up and general labour duties as required.
- Operate mobile equipment such as loader, skid steer, MEWP, rail king and lift truck.
- Use tools such as air lances, pressure washer, hand and electrical tools.
- Monitor equipment during daily inspections for troubleshooting.
- Work together on a shift and interact with maintenance staff to accomplish assigned work tasks.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a slag/grinding/cement manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience operating mobile equipment is considered an asset
Additional Requirements:
- Participate in plant safety including performing risk assessments before each job.
- Maintain good attendance.
- Complete scheduled work on-time and follow shift instructions.
- Provide feedback to the Production Supervisor for work improvements.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
