JOB DESCRIPTION: Amrize Cement Inc. seeks a Process Engineer in Alpena, Michigan to operationally improve plant production, including the computer applications to process controls.

 

Essential duties include:

  • Analyze plant operations and recommend process improvement, including Cost/Benefit Analysis.
  • Develop process control automation and computer applications for process control.
  • Prepare computer reports on the process of operating efficiencies and failure investigation tests.
  • Perform tests on operating plant systems to determine the efficiencies of the equipment.
  • Assist management in maintaining the plant within environmental and quality performance regulations. Training shift supervisors for SAP reporting and TIS.
  • Responsible for New System Implementation (eg. TIS).
  • Perform ISO Audits and involved with Month End activity reporting.
  • Work closely with the equipment suppliers, plant staff and Process Area Teams to ensure the successful operation of the plant.

 

This position requires up to 10% national/domestic travel.

 

REQUIREMENTS: The position of Process Engineer requires a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
The position requires 1 year of professional experience in the job offered, as a Process Engineer or in a related engineering position. Additionally, the position requires completion of a course in process engineering in an educational, training, or professional setting.
