ABOUT THE ROLE 
Reporting to the Territory Manager for the GCA, Southern Alberta Aggregate Division, the Aggregates Sales Intern will have the opportunity to work with our Area Sales Team in understanding our aggregates business.  This is a developmental role and an opportunity to learn & utilize the various sales systems & tools to gain experience into our markets, customers, & products with the ultimate goal of building a long-term career with Amrize.

 

This opportunity is part of Amrize’s New Graduate Development Path (NGDP). As part of the NGDP two-year journey, new graduates are provided with opportunities to connect with other new grads, gain exposure to various aspects of the Amrize business, and embark on their own learning and development journey through e-learning and scheduled monthly Learning & Development sessions. The NGDP provides a head start for recently graduated individuals entering the workforce while fostering a strong sense of community within Amrize.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Support multiple areas of the business including sales and estimating, quality control, and project management
  • Gain hands-on experience in the aggregates sales function—developing knowledge of customers, products, markets, and logistics
  • Produce and enter sales quotes into Salesforce to support the estimating and commercial process
  • Utilize data tools such as Qlikview for sales reporting and commercial insights
  • Explore new market and product opportunities, and supporting associated business development initiatives
  • Conduct project investigations and follow-ups to track progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Supporte customer engagement efforts by assisting the sales team with discussions and solution development
  • Participate in regular sales meetings to review sales opportunities, pipeline status, and strategic goals
  • Conduct jobsite inspections to ensure safety compliance and uphold quality assurance standards
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Recently obtained University Degree or College Diploma
Field of Study Preferred: Business Management/Engineering or related field.
Required Work Experience: co-op or summer placements in the construction industryRequired Training/Certifications: N/A

Required Technical Skills: Google Suite, SAP, and Salesforce.

 

Additional Requirements: 

  • Interest in a long-term career in sales, business, and construction.
  • Strong computer technical aptitude to learn new systems and programs
  • Experience with SalesForce/Apex/SAP
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Self-starter / Problem solver / Self-disciplined
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Can work independently
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
