ABOUT THE ROLE
Foothills Ready Mix, a division of Amrize NA, has an immediate opening for an experienced Labourer to join our team in Calgary.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Perform general construction labor to include jobsite clean-up and moving of materials by hand.
- Operating motorized equipment including power tools, grinders, saws, hammers, etc.
- Work requires alert individuals with good balance and physical strength.
- Assist in pouring and placing concrete.
- Mostly interior work but could be exposed to cold and heat, noise and dust from construction operations depending upon the project site.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Training/Certifications: Valid driver’s license
Additional Requirements:
- Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested.
- Frequently walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching and climbing.
- Frequent use of hand tools such as power tools, circular saws, hammers, nails, and bolts.
- Preference given to candidates with concrete construction labor work experience meets or exceeds performance expectations.
- Preference also given to those willing to learn and work in a team environment.
- Able to work in a fast paced, high production environment
- Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
- Able to work well with others and work well unsupervised
- Good communication skills
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
