ABOUT THE ROLE
The Claims Manager at Amrize plays a crucial role in minimizing the financial impact of accidents and losses across the entire organization. This person is responsible for implementing and overseeing all claims management programs, with a primary focus on US Casualty. They're a central point of contact, coordinating efforts and sharing knowledge across all Amrize business units.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Claims Program Management: You'll manage Amrize's Workers' Compensation (WC), Auto, General Liability, Property, Business Interruption, Marine, and Financial Lines claims programs. This includes everything from setting up the programs to continuously improving them.
  • Loss Analysis and Reduction: A core part of the job is analyzing loss and injury reports to spot trends. This helps identify opportunities to prevent future incidents and reduce overall losses.
  • Third-Party Oversight: You'll manage the services provided by Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and work closely with actuaries, reviewing and approving their reports.
  • Auditing and Reporting: Regular claims audits are essential, and you'll conduct these, presenting the results to stakeholders. This also extends to telephonic triage and case management case audits. Including Workers’ Compensation state filings and assessments.
  • Financial Management: You'll be responsible for maintaining adequate reserves for all claims, reviewing status reports, and documenting any necessary reserve changes. You'll also assist with managing of captive, collateral requirements and preparing annual risk budget assumptions and actuarial reports.
  • Legal Coordination: When claims become litigious, you'll represent Amrize in mediations, hearings, and trials as needed. This requires close coordination of claim management strategies with defense counsel and the Legal department.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: You'll supervise two Risk Claim Administrators and work closely with Risk Managers to ensure shared ownership of results for Property, Casualty, and Marine Programs. Significant interaction with various business unit leaders, including HR Managers, VPs, General Managers, and Safety Directors, is expected to discuss claims procedures, strategy, and outcomes. You'll also interact with external partners like defense attorneys, nurse case managers, and adjusters to effectively handle claims.
  • System and Documentation Management: You'll manage and maintain Risk Management Information Systems and ensure risk management procedures manuals are kept up-to-date.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Degree in Risk/Insurance Management, or Law
Required Work Experience: 5-7 years of progressive experience in Claims Management
Required Training/Certifications: Associate in Claims Designation or Equivalent Industry Training
Required Technical Skills: Google Suite, Microsoft Office
Travel Requirements: 20%. Travel required as needed for job related duties such as attending mediations, loss inspections, training, project work, and administrative tasks

 

Additional Requirements: 

  • Strong experience handling complex US Casualty claims nationwide.
  • Experience in claims handling required.
  • Construction industry claims knowledge preferred.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
