ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a results-driven Logistics Procurement Manager to lead road transportation procurement, carrier development, and cost optimization across bulk pneumatic, end dump, and flatbed transportation. This role will support Amrize business operations by developing competitive carrier capacity, executing sourcing strategies, and improving transportation cost and service performance across assigned regions, plants, terminals, and material flows.

The successful candidate will combine strong commercial judgment with a deep understanding of bulk trucking operations. The role requires someone who can analyze transportation spend and lane economics, develop and qualify carriers, lead negotiations with third-party carriers on competitive rates and commercial terms, and partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance to deliver measurable savings, reliable capacity, and improved network performance.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Develop and execute road transportation sourcing strategies for bulk pneumatic, end dump, and flatbed transportation across assigned markets and business operations.
  • Lead negotiations with third-party carriers to secure competitive base rates, standardized fuel surcharge structures, detention terms, capacity commitments, and favorable commercial agreements.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities through spend analysis, lane benchmarking, market intelligence, rate optimization, and carrier competition.
  • Drive carrier development by identifying, qualifying, onboarding, and expanding capable regional and local carriers to strengthen competition and capacity.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance to understand business demand, transportation requirements, service challenges, and cost drivers.
  • Improve network performance through carrier diversification, capacity planning, lane optimization, carrier development, and competitive third-party transportation solutions.
  • Develop procurement strategies that support Amrize's road transportation network and create measurable value across assigned business units.
  • Manage a significant transportation spend portfolio with direct accountability for savings, carrier performance, capacity, and commercial outcomes.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS

  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with bulk pneumatic, end dump, and flatbed carriers, with a strong focus on carrier development, expanding third-party capacity, and increasing competition across assigned markets.
  • Conduct regular carrier business reviews to evaluate service, safety, capacity, rate competitiveness, and savings commitments, and establish corrective actions where needed.
  • Support carrier onboarding and governance requirements, including commercial agreements, qualification processes, and compliance with applicable DOT, FMCSA, HOS, and safety requirements.
  • Analyze transportation spend, lane-level rates, shipment volumes, carrier utilization, KPIs, and market trends to identify sourcing and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain data-driven reporting and dashboards in Excel, Tableau, and/or Power BI to provide visibility into cost, savings, carrier performance, capacity, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Build market intelligence on carrier availability, equipment capacity, rate trends, and regional trucking dynamics to strengthen third-party carrier negotiations and carrier development strategies.
  • Translate analysis into actionable recommendations and executive-ready updates for business and procurement leadership.
  • Manage commercial performance including detention, accessorial charges, fuel surcharge application, and other transportation cost drivers.
