ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Manager of Media Relations and External Communications to build and manage our corporation’s media relations operations. This important role will serve as a key company spokesperson, build and manage press relationships, respond to incoming media queries, draft and distribute media statements and releases, prepare executives for high-level media engagements, and create and drive the company’s proactive media relations strategy to help tell Amrize’s story and achieve key business objectives.

 

The role will also help create and run the company’s media office operations to include media monitoring and analysis, press release and newswire distribution, media training, online newsroom management, developing executive reports, managing media lists, supporting the planning and execution of complex media engagements, and more. This role will also manage agency, vendors, tools, and subscriptions to ensure best-in-class corporate media operations. 

 

The ideal candidate has experience leading or working within corporate media relations teams for publicly traded companies and brings strong expertise supporting corporate events such as quarterly earnings, shareholder meetings, leadership positioning, thought leadership events, and more. This role reports to the Chief Communications Officer, serves on the Communications Leadership Team, and will play a central role in developing the corporation’s overall communications strategy, narrative, and direction.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Serve as Media Spokesperson: Serve as a media spokesperson across a range of corporate priorities and issues - and coordinate across the business to develop company statements, positions, and responses to queries. Develop and manage strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers to ensure ongoing positive, constructive media engagement.
  • Lead Media Relations Strategies and Execution: Create and support the company’s proactive media engagement strategy to identify key company themes, narratives, events, and opportunities to positively position the company and its leaders in the news media and at marquee events.
  • Amplify Key Corporate Events: Lead the media engagement strategy and news material development (releases, b-roll, imagery, and more) around key corporate events such as quarterly earnings, shareholder meetings, M&A, corporate announcements, leadership positioning, advocacy, and more. 
  • Support Media Engagement: Create executive briefing materials and lead the planning and execution of significant corporate news events, including logistics planning and preparation for executive-level interviews, including for broadcast, radio, and podcast engagements.
  • Establish and Run Media Operations: Develop the company’s media operations, including establishing the most effective approach to media monitoring, news reporting, analysis, media list management, online newsroom management, press release/newswire distribution, b-roll and imagery management, and more to best support the business. Provide regular reports to internal stakeholders on media coverage and campaign effectiveness. 
  • Collaborate across the business and function: Partner with leadership to ensure media operations deliver value to business leaders and align with company objectives. Partner across functions and disciplines to ensure stakeholder alignment with company messaging.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. 

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education:  Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of experience

Required Work Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in communications, PR, or media relations

Required Computer and Software Skills: Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office, Google Suite preferred 

Travel Requirements:  Semi-regular travel is required to support brand campaigns and collaborate with regional teams (up to 10%)

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
