ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize Canada is currently looking to fill a Scale Attendant position in the Lower Mainland. The Scale Attendant is responsible for the tracking and direction of trucks, and for scaling/ticketing trucks as they leave our sites. The Scale Attendant will ensure the front line field level adherence and enforcement of Amrize safety policies, procedures and processes with all fill site and haul trucks, drivers and operators.

Working in a fast paced environment, speed, accuracy and attention to detail is a must. This individual must be an excellent team player and utilize their strong organization and communication skills to coordinate trucks, working with dispatch to ensure deliveries are “On-Time, In-Full, Ticketed Correctly”.


The employee will be tasked with the day-to-day office duties, ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of all tasks assigned. Computer competency and an ability to learn in a fast-paced environment is a must. 


WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH 

  • Weigh and Tare trucks accurately.

  • Enter material and dump tickets correctly into the system.

  • Complete and maintain tracking sheets for all materials and dump loads.

  • Process cash sale transactions efficiently.

  • Track, reconcile, and report on COD (Cash on Delivery) sales.

  • Fax tracking sheets and other documents to customers as needed.

  • Sort and distribute incoming mail.

  • Manage Field Level Risk Assessments and log contractor hours.

  • Monitor and restock office supplies; assist with other administrative tasks as required.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent 

Required Work Experience: Experience in construction industry an asset: EG - Flagging, Scaling. Experience with Ticketing of trucks and Weigh Scaling an asset

Required Training/Certifications: Valid Drivers License Required. First Aid Certification is a bonus. 

Required Technical Skills: Computer Competency required (experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Google Drive)

Travel Requirements:  Travel to work sites in Coquitlam, Abbotsford, Mission, and Pitt Meadows.

Additional Requirements:

  • Vehicle required and ability to travel to different work sites 

  • Training will commence as soon as possible on Saturdays, with occasional sessions on weekdays, to accommodate leave coverage. Shifts occur during the day, Monday to Friday, with occasional requirements for weekends and night shifts.

  • Must be computer literate (job requires use of Microsoft Office, SAP, Google Drive, APEX ticketing)

  • Basic knowledge of products and industry terminology preferred

  • Strong safety mindset

  • Work well under pressure

  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills

  • Good time management skills

  • Understanding of basic logistical flow of haul trucks

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
