Screed Operator

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Screed Operator is responsible for the operation of the screed, which is on the rear of the paving machine. The operator is responsible for setting the depth and width of the asphalt as it is laid by the paving machine. Ultimately this position is responsible for the ride-ability of the finished product.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Responsible for setting the depth and width of the asphalt. It is a critical part of the road-building process, as the depth must be exact to the specifications.
- Shovel asphalt into holes in the surface and/or areas where the paving machine cannot access.
Provide excellent internal customer service. Exceeds internal customers’ expectations of services.
Follow all safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards. - Perform related work as assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Required Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paving screed operator
Required Training/Certifications: Valid Class 5 Drivers License
Additional Requirements:
- High degree of quality of work
- Be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with the crew
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy objects and working in all weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work under pressure and have high attention to detail
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies
- Must be able to work overtime, nights, weekends, and/or early starts (irregular hours) as necessary
- Willingness to work flexible hoursSuccessful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
