ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize is a well-established heavy civil and asphalt paving contractor specializing in commercial, municipal, and DOT projects. We are committed to safety, quality workmanship, and delivering projects on time and on budget. We’re seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Superintendent to lead field operations and drive project success.  The Asphalt Paving Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of asphalt paving operations in the field. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage crews, equipment, schedules, and subcontractors while maintaining safety and quality standards.

 

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily asphalt paving operations
  • Lead and manage paving crews, foremen, and subcontractors
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations
  • Coordinate with project managers, plant personnel, inspectors, and clients
  • Monitor material quantities, production rates, and quality control
  • Troubleshoot field issues related to equipment, mix design, or site conditions
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, schedules, and production records
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and ready for production
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and
    environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience in asphalt paving operations, including supervisory experience.  Strong knowledge of paving equipment, materials, and techniques.  Able to read plans, specifications, and project schedules. Ability to work extended hours, nights, and weekends as required by project demands
Preferred Experience  and Education: 
Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Combination of formal training
and experience will be considered.  DOT and municipal paving experience. Familiar with GPS machine control and modern paving technology.  Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. 

Required Training/Certifications:  Computer skills, including Excel, Word Project, etc.
Travel Requirements: 10% for training, development and potential projects 

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
