ABOUT THE ROLE
The Scale Operator will weigh trucks at our plants. Depending on size of facility, other duties as assigned may include Kronos (Payroll) entry & reporting, P2P Receiving duties, KPI reporting and/or general administrative duties.

This is a temporary position set to last approximately six (6) months.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  •  Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times. Responsible for site-specific safety training of all visitors; completed in a professional manner
  • Weighs trucks and ticket outbound sales using the Amrize LIFE system
  • Communicates effectively and timely with Sales staff
  •  Assists customers in identifying needed product and amount
  •  Maintain accurate cash and COD records
  •  Establish win-win relationships with haulers to provide best transportation services
  •  Maintain or improve order entry systems and procedures to provide on-time delivery and effective communication with customers and employees
  •  Ensure all work areas, including scale house, are clean, tidy and organized at all times
  • Trains and coaches other employees
  • Performs other duties as time permits or as assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High School diploma/GED 

Work Experience: 1-3 years Computer and Software Skills

  • Must be computer literate and able to demonstrate competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • SAP preferred but not required
  • Able to perform basic math computations
  • Knowledge of products, industry terminology
  • Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
  • Punctual and reliable; good attendance required
  • Good communication skills – verbal and listening
  • Detail-oriented
  • Team-player
  • Positive, courteous, and helpful approach
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical/drug/alcohol test
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
