ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the SVP of Central Canada, the Director of Growth & Commercial Performance (DGCP) is responsible for providing the strategic direction of Central Canada’s Commercial and marketing functions for all product lines, and managing the growth and profitability of the circular economy, soils and logistics businesses. This leader will lead the implementation and execution of the Commercial Operating models for all product lines by providing strong sales leadership and expertise in addition to organizing team coaching and training sessions aiming to enhance our commercial acumen to set pricing and volume strategies to meet financial performance objectives. The DGCP will coordinate relevant commercial and marketing initiatives with the Directors of Operations, General Managers, Logistics Managers, & Commercial Manager.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Develop and implement the commercial business cycle for all product lines based on the product line specific operating models. 
  • Drive the operating Model, best practices, and commercial processes. 
  • Lead the growth of the circular economy Operating Model (key priorities are recycled aggregates and Soil Importation business) for Central Canada. 
  • Develop and implement the Sales Force Effectiveness portfolio management process, equipping the local market commercial teams with the process and systems to ensure the proper allocation and tracking of the sales team’s resources required to execute on the market commercial plan. 
  • Lead all strategic framework processes including regular review updates, mid-term plan, general price increase policy and others as required. 
  • Develop and implement in coordination with the GMs a logistics vision that is incorporated into the commercial plans that achieve our logistics business targets. 
  • Organize and lead the commercial professional development initiatives, including coaching, training sessions and programs required to equip our commercial teams with the knowledge, structure and tools to operate under our Operational Models and execute on our commercial strategy. 
  • Manage and optimize business intelligence data and analytics, including the CID process, sales tools, and reporting, to support commercial operations, inform strategic decision-making, and drive revenue growth. 
  • Establish and execute the marketing plan, based on market trend analysis and forecasts supported by coordinated efforts with sales leader & communications, along with the development and management of the marketing budget, staff, and promotional campaigns. 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Minimum post-secondary degree in business management, commerce, engineering or related disciplines. 
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of commercial or leadership in the construction materials, materials or construction industries. 
Required Technical Skills: Comfortable with the use of multiple reporting, data management, analytical platforms, AI tools, P&L and inventory management tools.
Travel Requirements: 25% travel requirement in North America with a focus from Ontario to Saskatchewan.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
