ABOUT THE ROLE
The General Manager (GM) drives strategy execution by overseeing and managing all aspects of the Ready Mix product line, including but not limited to, full P&L, marketing and sales, production, distribution, quality control, maintenance, health and safety, sustainability and land & environment. This position will oversee two regions, the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area and the Moorhead, MN / Fargo, ND metropolitan area, requiring regular travel to ensure both areas have the necessary support.
The specific areas of focus include, but are not limited to, customer centricity, employee productivity and operational efficiency, advancement of safety culture, employee retention/satisfaction through maintaining a positive working environment. The GM translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art production strategies and processes that result in enhanced margins. Develops sales and marketing plans, operational plans and related policies and procedures.
Supervises, coaches and mentor’s subordinates. Monitors activities and satisfies reporting requirements in accordance to the Company’s policies. Responsible for financial performance including development of budgets and forecasts, achieving profit and cash targets, improving working capital and selection and execution of capital expenditures. Leads by example and shows behavior consistent with the company’s values.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Assesses market opportunities and develops annual business plans in terms of volume by segment, product pricing and related expenses. Responsible for establishing sales goals. Develops appropriate market expectations and for sales and marketing functions.
- Ensures the execution of sales strategies to develop new opportunities, increase market share and promote profitable sales growth.
- Provides excellent customer service to stakeholder groups by addressing issues, questions or concerns in a timely manner. Builds long lasting relationships with customers.
- Ensures quality through evaluation of the production and distribution process and material inputs and outputs.
- Partners with support functions to ensure that highest quality product is being delivered.Drives innovation and sustainability throughout the organization by accelerating green growth. Develops and promotes green product offerings and green construction and advances green operations.
- Supports the region in achieving overall profit and cash targets by identifying opportunities for improvement as well as collaborating with other regional product lines to leverage resources, etc.
- Oversees and directs preparation of operating budgets and forecasts. Conducts both sales operations reviews to assess all drivers that impact financials. Monitors and controls sales and production volumes, capacity, material use, inventory data, etc. Reviews financial statements, sales and operations reports, and other key performance indicators to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing improvement. Determines capital needs and manages capital process.
- Communicates and promotes safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards. Leads by example. Creates and enforces a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
- Responsible for maintaining safe working environments and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal safety regulations; coordinate closely with the safety team.
- Demonstrates a commitment to advancing safety culture through communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of equivalent experience years of equivalent experience.
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Sale and Marketing, or other similar disciplines.
Required Work Experience: Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Sale and Marketing, or other similar disciplines.
Required Computer and Software Skills: Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office
Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). SAP, Qlik Sense, and Google Meets/Zoom experience preferred.
Travel Requirements: 40%

Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test
