ABOUT THE ROLE

The QC Lab Manager is responsible for leading the Quality Control laboratory teams and operations across the EPDM Roofing Plant and the onsite Accessories Plant. This role ensures that all raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products are tested efficiently and accurately in accordance with established quality standards, test methods, and compliance requirements. The QC Lab Manager will oversee a team of approximately 12-20 personnel, driving QC testing compliance, fostering leadership and development within the teams, and managing all aspects of laboratory operations.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Lead & Manage: Oversee all QC lab operations and personnel for EPDM Roofing andnAccessories plants.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure robust QMS execution, ISO 9001 compliance, and adherence to all testing procedures for raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
  • Team Development: Mentor lab technicians and foster a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Data & Improvement: Utilize lab data and KPIs to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement in manufacturing and product quality.
  • Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Lab Operations: Manage equipment calibration, maintain 5S standards, conduct internal
    and external audits, and ensure safety.
  • Collaboration & Support: Coordinate with engineering, R&D, and production; support quality and process improvement initiatives.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay current with relevant industry testing standards and regulations.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: 5-year degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Management,
    Materials Science, or related field.
  • Experience: 5-10 years in a manufacturing QC lab (3+ years supervisory).
  • Industry Preference: EPDM, roofing, rubber, plastics, or chemical processing.
  • Key Skills: QMS (ISO 9001, ASTM), lab equipment, data analytics, continuous
    improvement, root cause problem-solving.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams, strong communication
    and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred: Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) and 5S principles.
