In this role, you will work cross-functionally with teams in Research and Development (R&D), Quality, Marketing, Operations, Logistics, and Global Supply Chain. This role will also collaborate within the corporate Product Stewardship team. Responsible for supporting the management of Product Stewardship activities including but not limited to: Safety Data Sheet creation using a 3 rd party authoring service, advising on dangerous goods (DG), including analyzing products, product packaging and labeling, data management. This position serves as a Subject Matter Expert liaison for Amrize involved in all aspects of Stewardship activities within the company and across many business units.

 


WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
• Subject matter expert for Stewardship including SDSs, product labeling, and dangerous goods.
• Advise on packaging, marking, labeling, classification, material handling and distribution of products in a global market with primary distribution in North America.
• Assess materials, products, and packaging for applicable chemical use requirements prior to sale and periodically thereafter. Collect materials, packaging and product information to support
regulations and ensure data is kept up to date.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of standards and regulations for OSHA HazCom, WHMIS, REACH/CLP, Prop65, DOT, IMDG, IATA, RoHS (some), and more. A familiarity with Trade Compliance regulations is useful but not required. Working knowledge means disseminating complex regulatory language to practical business language and tasks for non-Stewardship partners.

Some examples:
o Advise Logistics regarding Dangerous Goods labeling and documentation preparation.
o Provide a customer with supplier certification documents upon request.
o Provide R&D development project teams with an assessment for stewardship related risks and hurdles.

• Coordinate data collection from suppliers and Third-Party Manufacturers, for example product full material composition, Conflict Minerals declarations, other compliance certification and
declarations, Trade Compliance and Country of origin declarations.
• Aid R&D and Marketing in labeling and packaging design and development.
• Own and drive Management of Change across several Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) 
software systems. Participate in ERP improvement projects with regards to stewardship related data management.
• Develop audit plans to maintain compliance to standards and procedures.
• Contribute to the product stewardship strategic planning process that includes an annual evaluation of effectiveness and compliance of the program through self-assessment, risk assessments, product, and regulatory changes.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and management of the global Product Stewardship program for the coordination, prioritization and tracking of regulatory activities.

 


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• Baccalaureate degree in related science field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similar.
• 5+ Years practical experience within Stewardship related roles or related regulatory or compliance program.

• At least one completed certified training course in DOT or multimodal for the packaging and transport of dangerous goods. Does not need to be a currently held certification. Competency in
Canada TDG, ADR, UN TDG a plus.
• Required Skills
o Working knowledge of national and international product stewardship regulations,
similarities and differences, and the ability to explain to non-regulatory colleagues and partners.
o Audit experience a bonus.
o Project Management
o Strong aptitude and confidence in use of software tools

COMPLEXITY:
• Work is performed with some direction, supervision and mentoring and has some latitude in determining work objectives and goals.

• Travel (Domestic) 0-20% of time
• Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems
• A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis
• Work is mostly sedentary requiring computer skills and ability to travel. Typical demands of an onsite DG audit in a warehouse or chemical manufacturing plant.
