ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety minded Licenced Truck and Coach Technician to join our team, focusing on the repair and maintenance of our Ready mix fleet. Our fleet consists of Mack and Internationals with standard and automatic transmissions, as well as other essential vehicles used by Amrize Canada. This role is critical in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of our diverse fleet, supporting our commitment to quality and service as a leading concrete company. The successful candidate will play a key role in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical components, and hydraulic systems.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostic tests, and troubleshooting on a variety of heavy trucks, including Ready mix trucks, and other Amrize Canada Inc. vehicles.
- Execute preventative maintenance services and related work to ensure the longevity and reliability of the fleet.
- Conduct thorough safety checks on all vehicles and equipment to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Maintain organized records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards, including
- Lockout/Tagout procedures, confined space entry, and working at heights.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician license is mandatory.
- Required Work Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Truck and Coach Technician, preferably in heavy equipment or a related industry.
- Required Technical Skills:
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a proven ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, welding, and fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in operating a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with Mack and International truck systems is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver abstract.
- Travel Requirements: 25-50% - Required to travel between our various plant locations within the Ottawa Valley and Eastern Ontario, often on short notice.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required for emergency repairs or scheduled maintenance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
