ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety minded Plant Millwright to join our team, focusing on the repair and maintenance of our Ready Plants. Our Network of plants consists of portable and fixed plants within the Ottawa Valley. This role is critical in ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of our Plant network supporting our commitment to quality and service as a leading concrete company. The successful candidate will play a key role in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical components.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostic tests, and troubleshooting on a variety of plant components
- Execute preventative maintenance services and related work to ensure the longevity and reliability of the plants.
- Respond efficiently to service calls for emergency breakdowns, both during regular and occasional after hours to minimize operational disruptions.
- Maintain organized records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards, including
- Lockout/Tagout procedures, confined space entry, and working at heights.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Millwright Red Seal certification or equivalent qualification is mandatory.
- Required Work Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Millwright in an industrial setting, preferably in heavy equipment, aggregates, or concrete industries.
- Required Technical Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, welding, and fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in operating a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical systems and controls is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and clean abstract.
- Travel Requirements: 25-50% - Required to travel between our various plant locations within the Ottawa Valley and Eastern Ontario, often on short notice.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required for emergency repairs or scheduled maintenance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
