ABOUT THIS ROLE
This position is being hired for the Rayville, LA project location. The Plant Mechanic is responsible for maintaining plant equipment in a state of readiness. Performs the appropriate plant production equipment inspections and preventative maintenance.  Performs required plant equipment maintenance.  Informs manager of conditions that could impact production. Prepares all required daily/weekly department operating reports.   

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
•    Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
•    Inspects condition and operation of plant equipment and performs necessary repairs and adjustments. Reports required repairs or other findings to Area Manager.
•    Adheres to all safety, environmental and company policies and procedures in completing daily tasks, and completes all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
•    Completes work orders in a timely manner; installing, repairing and fabricating materials out of metal; ensuring availability and functioning of required items; and ensuring safety and resolving immediate safety concerns.
•    Performs the appropriate plant equipment inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance for both fixed and mobile equipment.
•    Responsible for preparing and welding steel and aluminum structures, appendages and equipment.
•    Performs routine preventative maintenance on plant equipment including handling welding repairs.
•    Conducts routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment and report findings to Area Manager.
•    Prepares Plant reports as required and maintain an inventory of regularly used repair supplies or equipment.
•    Assists personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
•    Responds to emergency situations as needed and/or assigned for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
•    Performs required emergency repairs on production equipment required to address plant breakdowns.
•    Performs repairs as required on plant processing equipment and performs maintenance on plant grounds as required.
•    Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
•    High School diploma/GED
•    Minimum of two (2) years experience in mechanical repair, installation, and construction in heavy industry.
•    Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems as well as the use of all shop equipment such as welding and machining equipment. 
•    Lock-Out,/Tag-Out experience
•    Welding experience. 
•    Experience working in confined spaces.
•    Basic computer skills and ability to learn company software

•    Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
