Production Associate

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Duro-Last Roofing, the world’s largest manufacturer of prefabricated roofing systems, has an opening for a Production Associate at the company’s headquarters in Saginaw, Michigan. The Production Associate’s primary goal is to manufacture high quality products, free of defects, and to also fulfill customers’ needs and expectations. This is a full-time, hourly based position with an additional potential safety bonus. The position will report to the Plant Supervisor.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

Create, implement and/or assist in Lean Manufacturing techniques including:
Standardized work instructions
Operator balance, manning levels, indirect labor studies
Plant material flow and layouts
Quick die change/changeover reduction
Downtime pareto analysis
A3 Problem Solving techniques including root cause and 5-why analysis
Visual factory tools to communicate shop performance
Audit Systems
Lead Kaizen events
Conduct time/delay studies on machines and operators
Assist in development of plant operational metrics
Other duties as assigned

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Manufacturing)
Five years continuous improvement experience (Kaizen Events, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving experience, etc.)
Proficient in time/delay studies
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab
Experience in preparing detailed cost benefit analysis reports to support project requests
Experience in preparing / processing of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques
