ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the General Manager of Portable Projects, the Field Safety Personnel is responsible for providing support, training, and facilitation to employees with the goal of minimizing health and safety risks. The role promotes a proactive approach to health and safety for the Ready Mix Concrete team at the BHP Jansen Potash Mine, enhancing safety efficiencies and ensuring a safe work environment.
This is a camp job with a two-week-on, one-week-off rotation, working 8-12 hours a day.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

Collaborate with site staff, management, and safety teams to implement and improve Health and Safety systems

Assist in hazard assessment and control implementation to eliminate risks

Manage safety document databases to ensure proper handling of records and investigations

Respond to incidents and coordinate medical care for injured employees

Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans

Support collection and distribution of safety and training KPI data

Coordinate and monitor health and safety training programs in line with company standards

Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, municipal OHS laws and site-specific regulations

Plan and conduct audits (HSMS, COR), follow up on actions, and support early, safe return to work programs

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Aftergradute degree or equivalent
Required Training/Certifications:Minimum NCSO designated required. Valid Driver’s License (Class 5, Non-GDL)
Required Work Experience: 4 years of H&S related experience is an asset.
Technical Experience: Proficiency in working with Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.)

Knowledge of Saskatchewan occupational health and safety legislation, codes, and best practices

Experience in conducting investigations and preparing written reports

Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, facilitation, conflict resolution, and crisis management skills

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
