ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Equipment Operator to support operations in our Asphalt Division. This is a mobile position that requiring the incumbent to travel throughout Massachusetts and the surrounding areas. The role is responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment to ensure the safe and efficient completion of construction tasks, including performing daily equipment inspections and promptly reporting any mechanical issues to the supervisor.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, loaders, and asphalt rollers to assist in asphalt paving and site preparation througout Massachusetts.
- Perform daily equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and report any mechanical issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with loading, spreading, and leveling asphalt materials according to project specifications.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate closely with crew members and supervisors to maintain efficient workflow and meet project deadlines.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and secure equipment properly when not in use.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Field of Study Preferred: N/A
- Required Work Experience: Minimum 2yrs experience
- Travel Requirements: 100%
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment specific to asphalt paving, such as skid steers, rollers, pavers, and loaders.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance on equipment.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt materials, placement techniques, and compaction processes.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and daily inspections to ensure equipment safety and efficiency.
- Ability to work in harsh outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and varying weather.
- Familiarity with job site safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Good physical condition to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials, as well as stand, bend, and work in physically demanding environments.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, taking direction from supervisors and collaborating with coworkers.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
