ABOUT THE ROLE
The Mill Helper will be a member of the Stouffville site team. The duties of this role include cleaning, monitoring, and maintaining the Sand and Gravel Plant in accordance with Amrize policies and Best Practices. The Mill Helper will also perform all administrative duties related to equipment maintenance.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Promote a safety culture through engagement with employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and JHSC.
- Implement and maintain regional and local initiatives with the goal of "zero" safety incidents.
- Administer and promote safety processes, policies, and review procedures to make sure the site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory guidelines.
- Keep the plant and surrounding site safe, functional, and presentable.
- Ensure that the site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory guidelines for environmental management.
- Support the Environmental Department in developing, implementing, and managing operational standards to mitigate the company's environmental impact.
- Operate and maintain assigned equipment to original equipment manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Perform daily inspections as part of the preventative maintenance program to ensure maintenance is scheduled and completed when required.
- Wash plant and equipment to remove material buildup from spillages.
- Support effective community relations by participating in local events, activities, and through partnerships with local businesses and associations.
- Perform other assigned duties to assist in the efficient operation of the plant and site.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Industrial plant operation and maintenance experience is considered an asset.
- Heavy equipment operation experience is considered an asset.
- Required technical skills include specific mobile equipment training, mechanical aptitude, and forklift and Skidsteer operation.
- Computer literacy is considered an asset.

- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
