ABOUT THE ROLE
The Technical Manager will lead the mechanical, electrical, and capital improvement initiative in the facility to maximize uptime and output. This role is also critical in partnering with operations to build technical capabilities throughout the plant. Utilizing maintenance programs, budgeting and capital planning the Technical Manager will direct cross functional teams focused on improving OEE and material usage in manufacturing operations. This is a key senior leadership position in the plant, able to grow into the Plant Manager role.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Lead culture change through strategic direction setting, coaching, and accountability to the Maintenance department in all aspects of their work, specifically through Gemba walks and one- on-one coaching.
- Model a sense of urgency with equipment reliability and problem resolution.
- Professionally and systematically define, design, develop, and monitor an Asset Maintenance Reliability Plan including preventative and predictive plans, spare parts management, scheduling and a fully integrated CMMS system including key process indicators.
- Identify Capital needs to improve performance in production, environmental, safety, building & grounds infrastructure, and be responsible from concept to completion. This includes estimating and fund procurement, specifying equipment and processes, vendor and contractor selection, project management, and installation.
- Collaborate with scheduling and production to coordinate preventative, corrective work as well as safety inspections. Also collaborate with process engineering on CQV of new equipment as well as the coordination of significant process changes.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Leadership to develop strategic and tactical plans that meet the safety, quality, and production targets, improve reliability and efficiency of production, and reduce cost to meet business needs.
- Lead root cause analysis and countermeasure development for top OEE issues identified by the business.
- Coordinate plant participation in the New Product Introduction Process.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering degree from an accredited university
- Minimum 10 years of experience in plant management, engineering management, quality management and/or continuous improvement roles
- Demonstrated success implementing TPM frameworks and achieving measurable improvements in OEE and maintenance KPIs.
- Working knowledge of RCM, FMEA, CMMS, and condition-based monitoring technologies (vibration, thermography, oil analysis).
- Extensive project management experience in the processing industries
- Exceptional organizational, time-management and planning skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key stakeholder groups including executives
- Able to make data-driven decisions quickly and effectively, balanced with discretion and good judgment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels from hourly to C-suite
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with pressured deadlines

- Varied environments including offices, industrial manufacturing, and warehouse
- Travel Requirements: as needed, but not more than 10%
