Assistant Plant Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role reports to the Plant Manager and will prepare operation schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality meet client specifications. Manage subordinate staff in the day-to- day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Promotes a culture of performance and exceeding expected results
- Fills in for Plant Manager during Plant Manager’s absence.
- Drive and track financial performance via monthly operation forecast.
- Effectively develops goals and objectives to implement actions, track performance and continuously look for opportunities for improvement
- Balance inventory and sales needs to manage and minimize working capital impact
- Works with sales team to drive customer retention and attraction
- Drive quality for customer retention
- Seek opportunities to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Ensures a quality product within specifications and timely delivery to clients
- Works closely with peer plant managers and operations manager to develop best practices, processes and to ensure plant activities are optimized and costs are best in class
- Actively lead on a daily basis on site operations
- Implement and follow best practices for maintenance, production and shipping processes
- Implement strategies to achieve target key performance indicators (KPI)
- Effectively use Company resources and programs to drive operational excellence and assist with the
development of aggregates specific resources as needed - Provides leadership for operations and office staff
- Follows the HR business cycle (Annual performance review, Annual Objective setting, Individual
- Development Plans, Mid-Year Reviews, Career& Succession Planning.)
- Participate in the development of emerging leaders to be ready to move into more responsible roles
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and
environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent experience.
Field of Study Preferred: Mining, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, CIM
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved
Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable
law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal
meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
