ABOUT THE ROLE 
Amrize ready-mix Calgary has immediate openings for motivated individuals to join day to day operations of the Calgary Amrize RMX plant production staff as yard helpers/grounds people. This position is entry level within the RMX industry and we are looking for hard-working ambitious individuals with potential to learn the industry and any/all positions within the ready-mix production operations. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Take part in daily plant safety instructions, receive and interpret instructions on completing daily tasks safely, efficiently and effectively with the use of the resources provided.
  • Housekeeping in all areas of the plant or yard, must be capable of shoveling, sweeping, wheelbarrowing, pressure washing and cleaning debris.
  • Take part in day-to-day ready-mix production as a plant helper by adding value added products such as concrete color, hardeners and concrete fibers.  Must be capable of repetitive medium duty lifting or moving of products up to 55lbs.
  • Assist ready-mix drivers with returned concrete, form, prep and place returned concrete.
  • Set concrete block forms place and finish concrete blocks, block inventory, block area housekeeping.
  • Assisting in inventory level checks.
  • Will be involved in preventative maintenance, minor repairs and daily service.
  • Take part in safety development and interaction.
  • Operate small equipment including skid steer, zoom boom, man-lift.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
     

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent 
Required Training/Certifications: Valid Class 5 minimum driver’s License is required
Additional Requirements:

  • Good communication skills.  
  • Individuals must be able to work with others effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Applicants must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to multiple locations within the greater Calgary area if needed.
  • Safety Certifications and/or training considered an asset. Standard training requirements completed upon hire.
  • Heavy Equipment experience will be considered an asset.
  • Individuals with potential to learn and grow
  • Wages are subject to negotiation based on experience and will be discussed during a scheduled interview.  Benefits, increases and pension are available when a probation period is complete.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
