ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sales Manager is the senior commercial leader for the Pipe and Precast business, responsible for sales, marketing, and commercial strategy across the underground construction materials segment ($50–$100M CAD). Reporting to the General Manager, this role oversees the sales team and order administration, ensuring customer needs align with operational capabilities.
Accountabilities include managing the customer portfolio, driving revenue and profitability, leading pricing strategy, and achieving sales and financial targets. The Sales Manager provides leadership, motivation, and development to the team of 8-10 employees while building strong customer relationships and delivering high-quality service.
Success requires strong leadership, technical understanding of pipe and precast products, and the ability to balance sales with production. The role also monitors market trends, maintains competitive intelligence, and partners with Operations, Quality, and Finance to meet annual sales and collections goals.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety policies, assist with Job Hazard Analyses, ensure maintenance staff maintain required certifications (CS, WAH, etc.), and actively participate in plant safety programs.
- Customer Relationships: Build strong, professional relationships with customers, influencers, and industry partners through technical expertise and superior service.
- Sales & Market Insight: Identify customer needs, translate them into sales opportunities, and adjust strategies based on construction activity, competitor actions, and market trends.
- Brand Promotion: Promote Amrize’s products and services, positioning the company as a trusted partner and representing it on industry committees, associations, and with regulatory bodies.
- Cross-Line Coordination: Collaborate with other Amrize product lines to ensure integrated, customer-focused market coverage and maximize business opportunities.
- Financial Management: Achieve sales, market share, and profitability goals; manage pricing, credit, receivables, collections, and inventory to meet financial and working capital targets.
- Performance Monitoring: Review financial results and operational KPIs to make informed, data-driven business decisions that improve performance.
- Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and develop staff across sales, logistics, and order administration; manage performance, career growth, and training to build capability and accountability.
- Strategic Execution: Drive commercial strategy, transitioning from product- to solution-based selling; support sales forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning through ongoing market and competitive analysis.
- Operational Collaboration: Partner with sales, operations, finance, credit, technical, and marketing teams to align goals, convert leads, and strengthen Amrize’s brand and market presence.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Post-Secondary education (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Field of Study Preferred: Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
Required Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of success in leadership role with responsibility for direct reports. Minimum 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, including team management.
Required Training/Certifications: Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to customer sites and industry events. Safety training certifications (e.g., WHMIS, site safety orientation) considered an asset.
Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and google.
Travel Requirements: 15%
Additional Requirements:
- Proven sales and account management experience in the construction materials industry, ideally in pipe, precast, or related building products.
- Strong understanding of civil construction, infrastructure projects, and underground materials applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Strong financial and analytical skills to support pricing, contract negotiation, and business case development.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement commercial and pricing strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with customers, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a sales team to deliver results.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

- $115,000 - $130,000/yearly.
