ABOUT THE ROLE 
SAB GCA RMX requires individuals to assist in the daily operations of our ready-mix concrete production plants. You will take an active role in housekeeping, plant improvement projects, assisting plant operators, handling inventory, and supporting plant service, maintenance, and repairs. Above all, you will be expected to prioritize safety—both for yourself and those around you—while adhering to all policies and procedures. This is a unionized position requiring reliability, versatility, initiative, and a willingness to learn.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Safely execute duties using the required training, knowledge, and resources provided.

  • Perform housekeeping duties for the production plant(s), yard, and surrounding areas.

  • Assist with plant service, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Support concrete form and finish work, concrete block production, and inventory control.

  • Operate small equipment used in day-to-day operations.

  • Participate in special projects and complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.

  • Work with plant operators and staff to add and manage value-added ready-mix products.

  • Follow all safety procedures, policies, and regulations.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
Additional Education Preferred:
Required Work Experience:
Experience in construction

Training/Certifications: Safety training certificates/designations are considered an asset. Lafarge-provided training will be offered to ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulations. Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract (required)

Required Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of equipment operation and plant systems

  • Willingness to complete training in equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Flexibility to work outside of standard hours, including weekends, holidays, and night shifts.

  • Must be physically fit for duty in an industrial environment.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with a team.

  • Safety-focused, motivated, and capable of working independently.

  • Working with site docs, plant operators and other resources at hand.

  • Maintain equipment provided with the position to work safely.

  • Must demonstrate flexibility, with a willingness to perform all tasks as required.

  • Housekeeping of production plant/plants, yard, assist in service, repairs, maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Operate small equipment used in the operations.

  • Form and finish concrete, concrete block production and inventory.

  • Complete projects in a timely manner with an open schedule.

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
