ABOUT THE ROLE
The Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the planning and execution of construction projects. In this position, you will collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and utility stakeholders to help deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards. Depending on project requirements, you may take ownership of specific project components or coordinate multiple smaller initiatives under the guidance of the Project Manager.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Support project pursuits through the bid process, including proposal development, information gathering, and assigned estimating tasks.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and estimating team to complete quantity take-offs and develop accurate, competitive cost estimates, schedules, and quantity verifications.
- Support project kickoff by leading scope pre-planning, developing a clear understanding of project scope and production requirements, and preparing required submissions (schedules, safety, environmental, and quality plans).
- Ensure project plans, coding, and locates are effectively distributed to supervisors and crews, particularly for smaller projects.
- Coordinate day-to-day project activities, including attending site meetings, managing schedules and timelines, and collaborating closely with project teams, field supervisors, and support staff.
- Identify, price, and track change orders while verifying job site quantities through surveys, take-offs, or external validation.
- Support the Project Manager with invoicing, accrual reporting, and the review and approval of supplier and subcontractor invoices, while monitoring project costs and financial performance.
- Ensure completion of all project closeout requirements, including documentation handover, post-construction inspections, and final reporting to management.
- Act as a liaison with customers, consultants, and project owners to maintain strong relationships and ensure client satisfaction.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: University Degree or Diploma.
- Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering.
- Required Work Experience: Internship or co-op experience in project coordination, construction or estimating.
- Required Technical Skills: MS Excel, MS Project, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Bid2Win
Additional Requirements:
- Interest in a long-term career in engineering and construction with a goal to pursue P. Eng. or CET designation.
- Familiarity with construction accounting principles and project cost tracking.
- Exposure to project team environments, with the ability to collaborate.
- Interest or experience in using AI tools to support project tasks.
- Exposure to noise wall or similar infrastructure projects is a plus; familiarity with cast-in-place piling is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of noise wall design principles, Schedule 18, and the Calgary Bridge Code is an advantage.
- Awareness of precast concrete fabrication methods, including battery forms, is desirable.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
