ABOUT THE ROLE 
Amrize is looking for a Summer Student who will be trained to cover various entry level duties on our Northwest Calgary Aggregate Sites. This is a great opportunity to learn about aggregate production and mining practices. 
 
Work Term: May 2026 – August 2026
Work Schedule: Mondays-Fridays 7:00AM – 5:00PM
Work Location: 13773 69 St NW #13721, Calgary, AB T3R 1J4

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Work safely and follow all Amrize safe work procedures
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained and clean
  • Ensure grass and weeds are cut throughout the site
  • Clean up garbage and keep the outside break areas clean
  • Paint equipment in various areas of the plants
  • Participate and/or conduct daily FLRAs (Field Level Risk Assessments).
  • Ensure that daily preventative maintenance is kept up to date
  • Run a tractor as needed to cut the grass
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Currently enrolled in an engineering or business program
Field of Study Preferred: Engineering (any) or Business
Required Training/Certifications: Class 5 driver’s license

 
Additional Requirements: 

  • Fluent in English with good oral, written skills.
  • Able to work alone or in a team environment.
  • Experienced in operating lawn mowers and weed whackers.
  • Must be comfortable working around large equipment.
  • Demonstrates a strong safety mindset and consistently prioritizes cleanliness
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
