ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize is seeking a dedicated Yard Labourer to join our operations at the Stoney Trail Gravel Pit. In this versatile role, you will provide essential support across all areas of the site, ensuring operational efficiency through diligent housekeeping, facility maintenance, and various site-specific tasks. A steadfast commitment to rigorous safety standards and best practices is a core requirement for this position.
 
 
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH 

  • Execute work assignments based on verbal instructions and daily operational priorities.
  • Perform general construction labor, including site remediation, material handling, and the manual transport of supplies.
  • Safely operate motorized equipment and power tools, including grinders, saws, and hammers.
  • Execute physically demanding tasks requiring a full range of motion, including climbing, lifting, balancing, and stooping in various terrains.
  • Assist with minor equipment repairs and preventative facility maintenance as required.
  • Maintain site cleanliness and safety by removing rubble and debris throughout the facility.
  • Conduct comprehensive Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs) prior to commencing any new task.
  •  Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors. 


 
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education Required: High School Diploma
Years of Experience: 1-2 years of construction or industrial experience is preferred
Additional Requirements:

  • Prior experience in an industrial or heavy civil setting is considered a strong asset.
  • Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor environments and within high-decibel plant settings.
  • A proactive, safety-oriented mindset.
  • Physical capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, with full mobility to crouch, kneel, or bend.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and various shifts as operationally required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compliance with all safety protocols and the proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Per safety regulations, employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the seal meets the face to ensure successful fit testing.
