Fleet Mobile Mechanic

ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has an immediate opening for a Fleet Mobile Mechanic to support operations at the Ready Mix Plant located in Chantilly, VA. The Fleet Mechanic works as part of the Fleet Maintenance team to proactively identify and repair issues with our truck fleet of over 100 RMX trucks, white vehicles and other mobile equipment.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Practice and promote safety in such a way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Dismantles and reassembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Cleans, lubricates and performs routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Stays abreast of new technology and methodology through on-the-job training and technical schools.
- Adheres to all safety protocols to include confined space entry, energy isolation, lock-out-tag- Out, working at heights, wearing appropriate safety glasses, gloves and other personal Protective equipment, as well as all OSHA, MSHA requirements.
- Uses the appropriate tools for the required tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Field of Study Preferred: Diesel Mechanics Technology (Preferred)
- Required Work Experience: 2 years of equivalent experience, CDL B licence Required
- Travel Requirements: Travel as needed within the region.
- Mechanical & Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Diagnostic & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot engine or system issues using diagnostic tools.
- Independence & Time Management: Ability to manage repairs on-site, prioritize tasks, and complete work without direct supervision.
- Ability to use the DVIR Software; other job-related
software as required. - Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment
- Ability to determine the appropriate equipment for the task at hand.
- Ability to monitor gauges, dials or other indicators to ensure equipment is working properly.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
