ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are seeking a talented and creative Content Strategist with a passion for discovering, telling and producing stories that engage audiences and advance our business strategy. Your innovation, ability to understand and connect with our community, and appetite for staying on top of best practices and trends will all be welcome as you shape our editorial calendar.

 

This new role reporting to the head of digital communications, content and storytelling is ideal for an energetic content expert with a strong editorial background, expertise in writing and multimedia content production, and savvy in audience-back strategies including SEO and measurement. 

 

Working with internal and external partners, you will craft engaging written, video and graphics-led content from feature stories to infographics. Like variety? WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

You will get to guide our corporate editorial calendar and deliver content creation projects from conception to completion including:

  • Partner with our team, digital and paid leads to create and manage an editorial calendar for our company website and intranet reflecting our content strategy, business objectives, stakeholder interests, hot topics, internal moments and other factors—ensuring timely delivery of content.
  • Develop strong relationships with subject-matter experts and collaborate with diverse teams across disciplines to find, build and approve stories.
  • Propose timely, relevant and strategic content ideas that advance our company vision by conducting research to understand audience and stakeholder needs, content performance, trends and external conversations.
  • Lead the creation of digital content for various channels, including feature stories, listicles, Q&As, and other written formats, video and design—ensuring timely delivery and quality excellence. the end-to-end production of digital content projects for various channels, including feature stories, listicles, Q&As and other written formats, video and design—ensuring timely delivery and quality excellence.
  • Apply strategies to maximize effectiveness, including SEO and other content marketing tactics, staying updated on trends and best practices in digital content production to continuously innovate.
  • Monitor and analyze content performance metrics to refine content strategies.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and storytelling objectives.
  • Source and curate high-quality visual assets, integrating them seamlessly into projects. Maximize the value and reach of our content by turning high-performing assets into a library of derivative pieces for use in multiple channels.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred) 
Field of Study Preferred: Marketing, communications, journalism or a related field.
Required Work Experience: 5-7 years proven experience managing storytelling sourcing, creation, production and promotion, ensuring timely delivery across digital editorial channels.

Required writing skills: Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to produce high-quality editorial content.
Required technical skills: Familiarity with Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, SEO and content optimization tools, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office, Google Suite preferred. 
Required general skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Travel Requirements: 10-20% 
 

Additional Requirements:

  • Journalism experience, e.g., TV, print, digital or radio, with a reel/portfolio demonstrating storytelling effectiveness.
  • Ability to craft concise, compelling, and channel-specific stories for digital platforms.
  • Experience in video production, animation creation, and editing for digital channels.
  • Proficiency in creating impactful graphics and visual elements to enhance storytelling.
    Experience in optimizing content for online channels, ensuring adherence to SEO/SEA best practices and audience engagement metrics.
  • Familiar/comfortable with backend content management systems a plus (e.g., Word Press, AEM)
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests
