ABOUT THE ROLE
The position is primarily responsible for driving employee productivity, operational efficiency, customer service levels, employee retention and satisfaction by overseeing and managing operations within the product line.
Relocation assistance provide to candidates that are not local to East Chicago, Indiana.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Works directly with the Plant Manager and support functions on the development of overall objectives and long-range goals for the region.
- Translates and cascades objectives to measurable goals applicable for area of responsibility and is ultimately accountable for the successful execution of all approved strategies.
- Ensures the operations achieve business objectives by providing direction and oversight to managers.
- Supports the region in achieving overall P&L targets by identifying opportunities for improvement as well as collaborating across the region to leverage resources, etc.
- Participates in the preparation of operating budgets.
- Conducts operations reviews to assess all cost drivers that impact financials. Monitors and controls operational volumes, capacity, material use, inventory data, etc. Reviews financial statements, operations and cost reports, and other key performance indicators to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
- Communicate and promote safety, compliance, and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards.
- Hold a key management role in large capex projects from conception to project commissioning.
- Develop capital plans for plants to continuously improve productivity and maintain costs.
- Take a key role in identifying reserves and negotiating mineral rights.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree 7 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma.
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree.
Field of Study Preferred: Operations Management, Business, Civil Engineering or other related discipline or equivalent experience.
Required Work Experience: Minimum of 7 years of operations/production-related management experience in the construction materials, or a related industry; or 10 years of relevant experience with High School Diploma/GED.
Required Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google mail and Microsoft Suite to include PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
