ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize Construction Edmonton is currently looking for a flag person to join our team for the 2026 Construction Season. Scope of work will be in our asphalt division. The large majority of work will be done in the Edmonton area, possibly out of town work for a short length of time. Often work hours will be long and will include some night shifts and weekends. Successful candidates should be hardworking, self- motivated and enthusiastic team players, willing and ready to work with all personalities.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Traffic and pedestrian control on roadways
- Collect and sort material tickets
- Follow all safe work practices
- Set-up and tear-down of barricades and signs
- Assist in daily safety meetings
- Be self-motivated and dependable
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Required Training/Certifications: Class 5 license and own means of transportation is required.
Additional Requirements:
- No flagging experience necessary
- Able to work long hours and weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
