ABOUT THE ROLE
This role manages all aspects of the RMX Fleet as well as all other Over the Road heavy trucks in Western Canada. It includes specifications, procurement activity with resources and delivery followed by ongoing analysis of fleet needs, performance, total cost of ownership (TCO) and quality. A key part of the role is active communications with vendors, maintenance personnel, and operations managers. This role is also core to the RMX Driver Training programs in WCAN. It directly runs the Driver Trainer programs with support from Safety, and then guides Safety to implement the compliance aspects and consequence management aspects with Operations within Regions. Lastly, this role has oversight of PM requirements, as well as CVSE and DOT requirements.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Evolve the RMX fleet to; lower TCO, improve reliability, and portability with 3% reduction in cost.
- Complete robust, sustained, and innovative target fleet exercise that is structured to help us see three levers: fleet productivity, fleet mobility (need), and fleet quality.
- Directly support all technology packages on trucks as part of logistics or manufacturing processes, including onboard control systems, IVMS, Concrete Direct, and Camera Based Safety Systems.
- Own the Maintenance Tracking System from an Over the Road Fleet perspective, potentially evolving current systems or moving to newer FMS products.
- Create a culture of Knowledge Sharing, benchmarking, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Connect our company to Transportation Governing Bodies and Associations that can help us achieve outcomes.
- Work in alignment with ECAN and US counterparts and come to consistent mutual outcomes.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Ten years of equivalent professional experience.
- Additional Education Preferred: Some post secondary is an asset.
- Required Work Experience: Some years experience as a professional driver.
- Preferred Experience: Experience within the concrete industry or highway transportation; prior experience managing large groups or fleets in logistics/maintenance.
- Required Training/Certifications: Class 1 / Class 3 active and maintained license.
- Required Technical Skills: MS Office and Google Suite; SAP experience is an asset.
- Travel Requirements: 30%.
Additional Requirements:
- This is a leadership role requiring inclusive and productive alignment with a broad variety of people.
- Requires strong communications skills, understanding of organizational behavior, and mentoring of local operations managers
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
