ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize is seeking a skilled and safety-driven Field Operator (B-Operator) to support stable and efficient operations at the Exshaw Cement Plant.
B-Operators play a critical frontline role in maintaining continuous plant operation, ensuring key production areas are inspected, clean, and operating within safe and optimal conditions. This position requires strong situational awareness, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to respond to changing plant conditions in a high-demand industrial environment.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH 

  • Monitor assigned plant areas to ensure safe, stable, and efficient operation
  • Conduct routine inspections, clean-ups, and condition monitoring
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and take corrective actions
  • Communicate with Control Room Operators and Maintenance teams
  • Operate light mobile equipment, manlifts, and overhead cranes (as trained)
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards
  • Perform Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs)
  • Identify and report hazards and equipment deficiencies
  • Support plant shutdowns, start-ups, and projects
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality policies
  • Support yard operations when not assigned to B-Operator duties
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Work Experience: 1–2 years of industrial or manufacturing experience preferred

Additional Requirements:

  • Schedule: Monday -Thursday, 12 hour days
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Heavy industrial cement plant environment with exposure to dust, noise, extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and moving equipment. Requires working at heights and in physically demanding conditions.
  • Shift work and overtime may be required.
  • Ability to analyze situations and make decisions
  • Comfortable in demanding plant conditions
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
