ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Geologist with a strong background in cement raw materials and industrial minerals to join our team. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, data-driven, and capable of leading geological exploration, resource evaluation, and collaborate with mine planning efforts to ensure sustainable raw material supply. This role requires expertise in exploration, geological modeling, mineral characterization, and data interpretation to optimize resource utilization and operational efficiency.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Function as a safety leader by demonstrating a personal commitment to working safely and ensuring that the plant or areas continue to eliminate work related risks by increased use of hazard recognition techniques; function as a strong advocate and leader in promoting a safe working environment for all employees at the plant.
- Function as an environmental leader in the quarries by demonstrating personal commitment to the environment and support the plants to continue to operate in compliance of environmental regulations by utilizing increased environmental recognition techniques. Function as a strong advocate and leader in promoting environmental awareness.
- Promote continuous improvement in quality to meet or exceed targets.
- Exploration, Resource and Reserve Evaluation: Plan, oversee, and lead geological surveys, sampling programs, and drilling campaigns to assess and expand raw material reserves for cement and industrial mineral operations. Responsible for drill logs, propose greenfield and brownfield exploration plans in coordination with Mining team, and Company interest.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize advanced geological software, GIS tools, and data analytics to collect, record, and interpret geological data, optimize deposit utilization, and support long-term planning aligned with other teams.
- Mine Planning & Development: Collaborate with mining engineers to develop efficient extraction strategies, ensuring sustainable, safe, and cost-effective operations.
- Quality Control & Assurance: Monitor raw material quality, ensuring compliance with cement and industrial mineral specifications while minimizing variability in production. Propone and update Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) policies, procedures accord with current regulation.
- Regulatory Compliance & Reporting: Prepare technical reports, resource estimations, and collaborate with environmental impact assessments in accordance with local, State, and Federal regulations. Support Company efforts with the Security Exchange Commission (SEC) filing process.
- Technology & Innovation: Implement modern geological techniques, automation, and digital tools to enhance exploration efficiency and data accuracy.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
- Work closely with operations, and supply chain teams to align resource planning with business objectives.
- Train and mentor junior geologists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education:
Bachelor's degree or 10 years of equivalent experience in geological exploration and resource management, preferably in cement raw materials and industrial minerals (limestone, clay, gypsum, pozoolans, etc.). Field of Study Preferred: Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree
Required Technical Skills:
Office XP User (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Power BI, Qlik, and Tableu experience preferred.
Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Vulcan, Surpac, MineSight, Leapfrog, Datamine) and GIS applications.
Travel Requirements: Duties include all quarries within the Company, and special projects must be able / willing to travel to around 50% of the year, work well in field conditions, deal well with unforeseen situations and adjust accordingly.

Permitting Experience
Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making and statistical analysis.
Knowledge of cement manufacturing processes and raw material requirements desired.
Familiarity with sampling techniques, core logging, and mineral characerization methods.
Understanding of mine planning principles, quarry operations, and environmental compliance.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
