ABOUT THE ROLE
To coordinate the marine transportation of materials in the most safe, efficient and profitable manner and promote excellence in logistics, customer service and relations.The Marine Coordinator is focused on achieving efficiencies of operations and other critical financial
performance objectives for the logistics market area while ensuring safe and efficient service and value for our customers. He or she will work closely with the Marine Logistics team, including the Marine Operations Manager and the unloading boats and operations, Commercial Manager, Territory Managers, and Third Party vendors in the market area. The role will also assist in all marine sales, asset management, customer service & logistics strategies throughout the river system. The ideal individual strives to maximize profitability by executing marine strategies, optimizing operations, understanding customer requirements, enhancing key customer relationships, and embracing best practices in sales and operational management tools and frameworks. To be successful in this role, this individual needs to be an excellent communicator keeping all levels of management and peers aligned. The individual also takes into account the needs, capabilities and limitations of both production, sales and logistics personnel and organization.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Customer Focus: Provides customer focus for the Marine team. Reinforces the needs of the customers. Continuously develops offerings to differentiate Amrize as the supplier of choice. Assists team in building solid relationships with key existing and potential customers in market.
- Customer Service and Logistics: Understand all Customer needs and requirements. Provide Logistical support to all customers. Be familiar with Marine and land based Logistics. Work with the Operations and Maintenance group to schedule equipment maintenance in an efficient and cost effective manner
- Operational Duties: Assist Dispatcher(s) in coordination of Marine equipment 24/7. Provide relief to other Marine salaried staff. Coordinate boat and barge movements, fleeting, and assist and schedule loading, unloading and delivery to quarries, yards and customer sites. Meet locally with 3rd party vendors, suppliers, and operations and sales to ensure the highest quality of safety, service and efficiency of operations. Coordinate and communicate daily with all interested parties. Coordinate and communicate quality of material on loaded barges. Other duties as assigned.
- Administration: Schedule day to day marine river logistics, operations and work schedules. Be familiarwith and oversee the daily administration functions including the data entry of marine logistics orders into TowWorks, AR/AP, monitor daily barge and fleet dispositions
- Creates and supports a culture in which the Amrize marine team, yard personnel and unloading crew carry out their daily tasks and activities in a safe manner, ensuring all safety rules are followed and employees are engaged.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor;s degree or years of equivalent experience
Field of Study Preferred: Business Administration, Organizational Management, Supply Chain
Required Work Experience:Progressive work experience associated with marine operations to include barge unloading and boat crews; Work experience associated with equipment operation and maintenance at distribution sites
Required Computer and Software Skills: PC skills – Word, Excel, Email, SAP, APEX
Additional Requirements:
- Supervisory experience demonstrating teambuilding skills, employee development, leadership, motivation and delegation skills
- Understanding of Coast Guard regulations preferred
- Mechanical aptitude preferred
- Professional, pleasant, courteous, safe and positive attitude working with customers, fellow employees
- Telephone and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with fellow employees, customers, sales personnel, unloading and trucking firms, and supplier
- Demonstrable knowledge of safe and proper operating procedures for marine and unloading equipment
- Ability to establish and manage marine maintenance budget
- PC skills – Word, Excel, email, MS Windows
- Problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Demonstrable ability to plan, organize, set priorities and to execute
