ABOUT THE ROLE
The Area Plant Manager has direct responsibility for the plant site including safety, operations, maintenance, inventory management, performance, quality, financial performance, environment, employee relations, plant’s image and community relations. The Plant Manager is an operations professional who understands the value of planning and process and takes a disciplined approach to execution, while working closely and effectively with safety, customer service, performance, environment, finance and HR personnel.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Achieves the Plant strategic objectives by planning, implementing, directing and monitoring the various activities at the plant level.
- Maintains plant performance objectives by providing direction and monitoring the various activities at the plant level.
- Maintains Plant staff performance objectives by providing clear work direction and expectations, coaching employees, and appraising performance.
- Ensures product quality and expected customer service levels are met for assigned operational sites.
- Achieves financial objectives by assisting regional manager in budget planning, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances.
- Complies with Federal, State and Local legal requirements by studying legislation and enforcing adherence.
- Ensures a culture built with honesty and integrity, and compliance with company requirements.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Undergraduate degree preferred in construction management, engineering, or business.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience preferably in a building materials, construction or other industrial environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP Systems (i.e. SAP), Google Mail, and Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Travel: 15% travel is expected.
- Core Competencies: Business Acumen, Driving for Results, Functional/Technical Skills, Managerial Courage, and Strategic Agility.
Additional Requirements:
- Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
- Ability to make decisions in a timely manner under pressure.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
