ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will manage all depot facilities and operations in the GTA. This role is responsible for ensuring top performance on safety, environmental, production, and shipping activities. The responsibilities also include the development, leadership, and management of all site employees. The Depot Manager will ensure alignment with all functional groups including: safety, environment, land, manufacturing, and supply chain to drive a consistent process and standard approach. The manager is responsible for engaging and participating with our neighbors and local communities, supporting to ensure we are viewed as a valued member of the industry and local community.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Provides customer focus for the Depot team and reinforces the needs of the customers while developing offerings to differentiate the company as the supplier of choice.
  • Establishes the environment as a priority at the site and ensures regulations are met or exceeded by following best practices.
  • Develops short, medium, and long-term growth depot strategies for the GTA, complete with SMART objectives.
  • Ensures proper processes and tools are utilized to plan operational activities, including maintenance programs, capital planning, and budgeting.
  • Manages the annual Depot transfer pricing and is responsible for monthly financial performance (EBITs) and forecasting for all Central depots.
  • Assists with the purchase process of materials and equipment while developing and motivating staff through hiring and training.
  • Ensures the site meets or exceeds all regulatory guidelines and manages a sustainable operation plan to ensure depot optimization.
  • Establishes a management program for the production of recycled concrete and oversees 3rd party crushing operations.
  • Ensures accurate monthly depot inventories using best practices to reconcile physical counts versus SAP system inventory.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: An undergraduate degree in business or engineering.
  • Preferred Fields: Business, mining, or engineering.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, not necessarily in the aggregates or construction industry.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Understanding of general accounting principles is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficiency with various computer applications.
  • Knowledge of the aggregate industry is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communications, strong analytical skills, and time management.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
