ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize is seeking a safe, reliable, motivated, and flexible individual to join our team as a Mobile Equipment Operator for our Portable Recycling Crushing Plant operating in the GTA. This individual would operate mobile equipment (excavators/wheel loader) to feed the crushing plant in accordance with Amrize’s Best Practices and Policies as well as perform all administration related to the equipment’s operation. The position will also require executing daily tasks of operating and maintaining the Portable Recycling Plant.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Maintain the Portable Recycling Plant in accordance with Amrize’s Best Practices and Policies.
  • Operate and maintain the plant, including preventative maintenance, housekeeping, and repairs
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as changing rollers, flashing, screens, greasing, and washing equipment.
  • Operate equipment such as John Deere 844L, Volvo Excavator EC340, CAT 908, and forklifts to manage rubble and feed the plant.
  • Ensure the site meets or exceeds all Amrize and Regulatory environmental and safety guidelines.
  • Perform daily inspections of equipment as part of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Typical shifts are 10-hour days, Monday to Friday, alternating every two weeks between morning and evening shifts.
  • Travel and overnight stays are required as the plant moves from site to site within and outside of the GTA.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 or more years of heavy mobile equipment operation experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid “G” license is required; First Aid, LOTOTO, and Surface Miner Courses are assets.
  • Technical Skills: Mechanical aptitude and computer literacy.
  • Preferred Background: Experience in industrial plant operation, maintenance, or managing concrete rubble piles; field of study in Millwright or Heavy Mobile Mechanic

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Action-oriented with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform manual labor including heavy lifting, bending, and twisting in various weather conditions.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
