ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quarry Supervisor will primarily be responsible for the oversight, coordination and planning of daily
production activities to ensure uninterrupted supply and delivery of product to our customers. They will be a
key member of a high energy management team at a 3M ton per year granite quarry. They will take part inenhancing operational efficiencies while maintaining a strong safety culture. The Quarry Supervisor will have
responsibility over all quarry activities, ensuring work is completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner,
while in compliance with environmental requirements.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Supervise, coordinate and monitor daily and weekly plant activities including Stripping, Drill & Blast,
  • Load & Haul, rip-rap and road base production.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors to ensure equipment is properly maintained and maintenance
    activities are completed during scheduled equipment downtime to optimize production schedules.
  • Support and assist supervisor colleagues to achieve timely and efficient production schedules
  • Evaluate and resolve problems affecting overall equipment and pit fleet efficiency
  • Investigate abnormal operating events or equipment failures to determine the root cause, and
    makes adjustments, repairs and/or modifications, as needed
  • Organize, schedule, and oversee daily Drill & Blast Activities
  • Work with business partners to develop, follow and update short, medium and long term mine plans
  • Work with business partners to develop reclamation plans
  • Make recommendations for workforce planning, hiring, training, development, work allocation,
    conflict resolution, performance evaluations and separations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and
    environmental policies in all work areas
     
    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent 5 years of equivalent experience. Associate's degree preferrd
    Field of Study Preferred: Mining or geological science
    Required Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience Supervisory experience in a union environment preferred.
    Required Training/Certifications: Solid computer skills (data reporting, Microsoft Office, CAD /  Mine planning tools

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved
    Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable
    law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator sealmeets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
