ABOUT THE ROLE

The sales manager will be responsible for managing the sales team by establishing sales territories, volume targets and profitability objectives within the Eastern Ontario market. In order to achieve volume/share, price and other critical revenue objectives, the incumbent of the position must coordinate, implement, and execute the overall company strategy with their team and work closely with the directors of the other departments. This role involves managing and coaching the sales team while developing a high-performance sales culture that will produce results through the implementation of the ready-mix concrete (RMX) commercial and sales plan in the Eastern Ontario region.

The incumbent is responsible for maximizing profitability by developing a strategy to optimize sales, understand customer segmentation, optimize product portfolio, utilize areas of natural advantage, build relationships with key customers, influence the main market prescribers, manage market shares, interpret general trends in the economic environment and adopt the most efficient sales management tools and frameworks. The incumbent manages customer relations, promotions and G&A budget for the market area while working with the area management team to establish the annual budget.

 

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Responsible for coordinating the delivery of the strategic framework and related action plans for the market.
  • Constantly monitor competitors' activities in order to properly measure the gains and losses of opportunities.
  • Provide customer orientation to the company’s management team and strengthen customer needs with other departments.
  • Take charge of the pricing strategy, the preparation of offers and the negotiation with large clients and on major projects.
  • Build effective monthly sales forecasts for the management team.
  • Calculate backlog and compare to prior periods to assess the risk/probability of meeting targets (volume, price, gross profit).
  • Manage sales force to ensure that all potential projects are quoted and followed up.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to stretch and challenge staff to deliver results and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Work closely with the credit department to ensure outstanding receivables are collected in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in industry associations as a representative of the company.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Additional Education Preferred: College degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Field of Study Preferred: Business, marketing, or engineering.
  • Required Work Experience: 7 to 10 years.
  • Required Technical Skills: Microsoft suite, SAP, Sales Force.
  • Travel Requirements: 50%.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent people management skills: ability to develop effective internal and external relations.
  • Disciplined and process-oriented.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
